The UX Social Club

I started the UX Social Club because I saw a need. Junior and emerging designers need a place where they can connect, collaborate, learn and grow their skills in a supportive environment.

The overwhelming majority of my mentees and boot camp students are what folks in the industry like to call “career switchers.”

While some of these bootcamp students and mentees might graduate with exciting ideas and solid portfolios, they all still need some guidance navigating the ins & outs of a whole new industry. Boot camps don’t offer you a deep-dive on things like salary negotiation, networking, and polishing your online presence.

We have one main rule at The UX Social Club: Don’t be a D!*k.

We strive to keep The Club full of what I like to call “Capital G, Capital P, Good People.” Does that sound like you? We’d love to have you join us!

If you’re there to really get experience and try new things, trying different ways of interviewing or new ways of researching, Maigen will support all of that and give you advice on how best to accomplish that

Maven of Mentoring

It’s my job to give you critical and constructive feedback. For my mentees, that looks like weekly check-ins, monthly office hours, encouragement and the occasional meme in our Slack channel. I feel pretty strongly that everyone should hold the door open for those who come afterwards, and that’s how I celebrate my wins. I can’t wait to celebrate yours!
